In the Coaching Labs, students coach each other and trainers use “Stop the Clock” as the key teaching strategy. With this technique the trainer interrupts the coaching session 2 or 3 times, or whenever they observe an ICF Competency in practice. Then then provide specific feedback on the coaching, identifying exactly what it was that the coach did that met a specific ICF competency and its related PCC Markers.
In the portfolio labs students can discuss their coaching model, their power tool or their research paper with the trainer and students. They can explore their niche and its relationship to their portfolio. They can brainstorm or bounce off ideas in the lab or get feedback where they are upto or get coaching / support / accountability for completing the assignments.
